Historical Backgroung

Kiruhura Secondary School is a school founded by the Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur. It opened in 1971, being a school family to meet the needs of the surrounding population and support the young Rwandan girl.

In 1978, when family schools were closed, the sisters of St. Mary of Namur held immediately a Rural Learning and integrated handwork Center. The center operated until the 1994 genocide of Tutsi.
